You are what you eat, or in my case drink...

So I kept a list of all of the food that I ate this week, as well as everything that I had to drink. I have yet to go through it closely, but I'm a bit shocked at how much I drank this past week. I had been doing really good in not drinking at all during the week, but ever since we went to California for my birthday and bought all that delicious wine, I've been reaching for the wine glass a bit too often. If I am what I eat, I think I would have been a BBQ chicken salad mixed with a bottle of red wine this week!

I will post the list of food tonight, but the experiment did prove that yes, I'm not as bad as the people on You Are What You Eat. However, there is room for great improvement in my diet!

I'm sure my food list is skewed a bit since I ate out almost every meal aside from breakfast this past week due to Carlo being in Utah for a few days and then with his family in town. I'd be interested to do this again when I have a more "normal" eating schedule.

The whole family is doing the Fort Worth Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving. While everyone else will be running or walking the 5k, Carlo, Craig, and I will be doing the 10k. I haven't been doing too much running since the Northern Exposure 10k a few weeks ago, and Carlo hasn't really run more than 2 miles since July, so we went out for a good run this morning.

We ended up going all the way around the block by our house for a total of 3.5 miles. We really pushed ourselves and were running pretty fast, although I think the faster pace caught up to us when we were running up Hualapi which is basically a mile-long hill! I think if we can get up tomorrow morning and run the same route although in reverse, we should be in an okay position for Thursday. Carlo's shin was hurting a little bit, but I think if he properly stretches out his calves both before and after running, he should feel better. At least the Turkey Trot route should be flat!
