For the last couple of months, I have been repeating the cycle of losing 2 lbs one week and then gaining it back the next week, only to lose the 2 lbs again a couple of weeks later then gaining it back and so forth. It is very annoying, especially since I am doing a Weightloss War with people from work and in the weeks that I gain the weight back, I drop to 8th and last place. I refuse to come in last place in this Biggest Loser-style weight loss competition, especially since I helped initiate the idea to prepare for the upcoming wedding. One part of the competition ends on May 19 and the second part ends on September 19, so hopefully, I will be able to move up the rankings some.
To help these efforts, Carlo and I woke up this morning and worked out to a Kathy Smith DVD. We were supposed to go for a run but there have been really strong winds for the past few days and it was howling outside this morning. I think Carlo thought the video was going to be totally lame, but pretty soon he was cursing the TV screen when he was doing a squat for the millionth time. Despite him thinking the video was a bit cheesy, he has agreed to do it with me again, so perhaps a little Lift Weights to Lose Weight will be incorporated into our workout schedule a few times a week. As Jillian from the Biggest Loser says, it is best to do 4 hours of strength training a week and any cardio on top of that is gravy in redefining your body. I normally do cardio with no strength training, so I'm going to try and switch it up for the next couple of weeks and see if that helps me get off this weight see saw.
Speaking of the Biggest Loser, the finale last week was AWESOME. Ali looked incredible and her transformation was nothing short of remarkable, especially since she did the majority of the work by herself at home after getting voted off campus in the first few weeks. If my arms even look a quarter as good as hers do for the wedding, I will be stoked.

Ali is a total hoss; I was so glad to see her win.
Yeah, glad she won, but her arms are almost a bit too much. We don't want you looking like a man.
